1. episode (+ character): Better Call Saul, Season 1 Episode 6, Five-O. Mike Ehrmantraut...my god Mike. He is such a complicated character, and BCS has been spoiling me so much with lots of him. I was so crushed at the end of Breaking Bad, so as soon as he appeared in BCS I'm pretty sure I actually started squealing like a little animal. He is so complicated and flawed, but I can't help but be absolutely in love with him...This episode especially was exactly what I was hoping for in seeing...learning more about him, seeing him in pain, seeing him so EMOTIONAL AGH I FELT SO SPOILED!!!!! I was struck silent by it. I'm being vague on purpose please go watch BCS but oh to snuggle up to him while he cries.
2. song: Eulogy from Hypnospace Outlaw. Don't read the comments if you haven't finished the game! There are spoilers there! Anyway. I remember the first time I encountered this song in the game... waauuuuh...Hypnospace made me cry many different times, but this was one of the ones where I cried the hardest. Jay Tholen's way with composition really warms my heart, the music of this game stuck with me for so long after I'd finished it, I remember so vividly the way that I felt while I played through the main storyline, I really should go back and do it again just to experience it all over again.
3. entire canon: This may sound silly, I really really like the absolutely ridiculousness of the Katamari Damacy Series. It makes absolutely no sense, but it's adorable and I always have fun playing a new game and learning what part of the greater universe that The King of All Cosmos has destroyed this time and is expecting his teeny tiny boy to clean up. I need to play We <3 Katamari again...
4. scene: The scene in Kentucky Route Zero where you first meet Weaver.I remember it so vividly because it was in that exact moment that the game truly pulled me in and did not let me go. Past about 2 minutes into this video is when it really starts to become evident that you are playing something that is going to stick with you. And it does. I'm still haunted by this game a full year after playing it, and I want to go back and make different decisions to see if the outcome of the game does indeed change, or if I am stuck with what I have gotten due to the type of person that I am the types of choices that I will probably make over and over again just based on this. Agh. What a game. Please play it if you get the chance. I also have it to thank for my name so..ehe...yes.. please check it out if you'd like!

Growing up, fandom was a true escape for me, and a way for me to actually make and keep friends. Sure they had to be kept secret when I was younger, but as I got older it proved to me that there was so much more than what was out there just right in front of me. I'm still friends with one of the people I met over 15 years ago, and I'm so thankful for him every single day. Fandom has been an outlet and a sanctuary for me for so long, I don't plan on ever getting out of it. I hope I'm posting about the cute band boys and cartoon yaoi that I like when I'm much further up in my years.
I've seen this sentiment expressed by many others as well, and I think it's really something special that we as humans, as creatures can come together and collaborate and hold hands over things like this. Makes me very emotional.
Talk about what has improved in your life thanks to fandom.
I can attribute a lot of positive change in my life to fandom. If it weren't for creating and finding common ground among peers, always making something-- I'm really not sure what sort of person I would be. Sometimes I'm unsure if I'd even still be here if it weren't for it. I grew up in a very difficult environment, and did not have much access to the outside world or social areas because of the way I was raised. Making friends was difficult with a caretaker that would do anything in their power to get rid of them as soon as they were introduced as a way to have control over me. Jan. 7th, 2025 11:19 am3. In your own space, talk about a fannish opinion you hold that has changed over time.
oh deaaaar…here we go. I actually don’t have many opinions like this except for one big one: It’s okay to like the popular thing. There have been times in the past, mostly when I was a moody teenager where I openly shunned things that were “ontrend” or in the now/ in the spotlight because I deemed myself far too INDIE and UNDERGROUND to be concerned with Rise of The Brave Tangled Dragons….even though I really wanted to be…
I really look back and shake my head at my more isolatory ways as a teenager, I missed out on a lot fun! These days I’m 100% more lax and just do whatever the hell I want, but I spent a lot of time fretting about not wanting to be into what “everybody else” was into. Fretted much too much about being different. Don’t knock something just because it’s popular grub Cyrano! It’s popular for a reason!! Take a bite of the cake, a lot of people love it!!
Of course this is all still subjective, but I am a lot less *turns my nose up* about things just because they’re popular or acclaimed or “hyped up” hehe….
